Homestead Beer moving into Northeast Ohio

homestead2

Homestead Beer Co. is moving into the Cleveland and Akron markets. The Heath brewery has hooked with Beverage Distributors to bring its beers on draft and in bottles to the area.

"This was always in our plan to distribute in Columbus and then to move piecemeal across the state," co-owner and brewer Adam Rhodes said. "Looking at the lay of the land, Cleveland is the most inviting place and has a strong core audience. We hear about it all the time and it was a really easy decision to make."

Homestead also will be available at Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Indians.

There are several welcoming events planned for the week of April 17. Here's the rundown:

-- A tap takeover featuring Galactic Heroes IPA, Bastille, Barnraiser and Tenpenny Amber Ale from 6 to 8 p.m. April 15 at the Cashmere Cricket in Cuyahoga Falls.

-- A tap takeover featuring Five Points Irish Red Ale, Tenpenny Amber Ale, Galactic Heroes IPA, Barnraiser and Bastille starting at 4 p.m. April 16 at the Tremont Taphouse in Cleveland.

-- A growler and bottle release featuring Galactic Heroes IPA, Tenpenny Amber Ale and Bastille from 5 to 7 p.m. April 17 at the IGA Shaker's Marketplace in Olmsted Township.
