Blank Slate, Orchids announce beer series

Blank Slate Brewing Co. is partnering with a downtown Cincinnati restaurant for a series of four collaborative beers, with the first one being released today. (April 16)

Orchids Bloom, a French-style saison made with coriander and hibiscus, will be available at the Orchids at Palm Court and The Bar at Palm Court located in the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel. It also will be available for a limited time at the Blank Slate tasting room starting Friday.

“The beer has a fruit forward nose and contains a flowery component derived from the use of dried hibiscus flowers, which also give the beer a nice springtime pink hue," Blank Slate owner-brewer Scott LaFollette said in a news release.

Orchids at the Palm Court in the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza and Blank Slate Brewing Company announce creation of collaborative beer series.

Downtown/East End – The creative minds behind Orchids at the Palm Court and Blank Slate Brewing Company have teamed up to create a series of collaborative beers to be served in the acclaimed restaurant, Orchids at Palm Court and The Bar at Palm Court located in the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel beginning Thursday, April 16th and continuing throughout the year.

The series will consist of four beers created to accompany the season in which they are served and to incorporate culinary influences pertinent to that time of year. Additionally, the naming of the beers will be themed to the life cycle of the orchid flower itself, following the progression of the plant from its spring birth through its winter hibernation.

The first beer entitled “Orchids Bloom” is a French Style Saison brewed with coriander and hibiscus.

“Orchids Bloom” will be a ‘draft only’ offering available in The Bar at Palm Court and Orchids at Palm Court in the hotel located at, 35 W 5th St. beginning Thursday, April 16th. It will also be available for a very limited time at Blank Slate Brewing Company PourHouse located at 4233 Airport Rd., Unit C starting on Friday, April 17th at 5:00 pm.

“Orchids Bloom” will be available while supplies last or until the next seasonal collaboration becomes available in early summer.
