Calling All Columbus Health + Fitness Loverrrs!

If you love health and fitness and you live in or around Columbus, then you surely need to know about Sweat Local Columbus, a movement through Columbus to encourage people to sweat, buy, and eat all things healthy from local businesses in Central Ohio.

They are all about community and #sweatlocalcbus is hosting their inaugural event featuring a 5K and Expo on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Bridgewater Banquet and Conference Center. A 5K will kick off the event at 8:30AM, with the Expo running from 9AM-2PM.

The Expo will feature 30 local health/fitness vendors and fantastic local people to mix and mingle with! Attendees also can choose from 12 FREE 30-minute classes, all day long (the schedule is pictured below)! You can learn more about the classes here and the 5K here.

A Day at Gateway

A couple of weekends ago, my lil' family and I ventured to The Gateway for some lunch, treats, and shopping. This quaint area, located one block off North High Street between 9th and 11th Streets, is not just for the college kids these days – there are many great places to eat, shop, and work out. You may know it for the Gateway Film Center and/or the Barnes & Noble that are located there.

We started our day with lunch at FUSIAN, a casual + affordable sushi spot in which you are able to craft your own rolls. Nic and I's shrimp tempura/salmon rolls with asparagus, avocado, and cream cheese were so yummy – both complete with a side of edamame and lavender lemonade.

Next stop was Berry Blendz – a favorite stop of mine in The Gateway for years – they make awesome smoothies and juices. My favorite is Choco-o-Nutter – made with almond milk, chocolate, banana, peanut butter, and frozen yogurt. It's like dessert it's so good and such a treat!

Afterwards, we crossed the street to check out where World of Beer is now since we hadn't been since they'd opened. While we didn't stop there, we loved, loved, loved their patio and will be back when the little one is not with us.
